1. Shop-Claim & Identity Verification
Committed work, not a check in place. The intention is to verify ownership before a Shop goes live (or is transferred) by a UEN match against ACRA records or a verified phone callback. Today neither runs. A free shop goes live immediately with no ownership check; a paid shop starts suspended until we confirm payment, which is a payment check and not an identity one. What the software does refuse at signup: a shop name that already exists, and a shop address (handle) that would look like an existing one once hyphens and case are ignored, so one shop cannot sit beside another as a lookalike. A softer name-similarity comparison also runs and writes an internal note for our team.
2. Subscription & Product Caps
Plans per the published pricing page. Product caps are active-at-once caps — you may rotate products freely within your cap, and a hidden product never counts against it. The cap is checked when you create a product, edit one, un-hide one from the list, and save the bulk-edit grid.
Plan changes are made by us on request today — write in and we will make the change. Your console says the same. Self-serve plan changes from the dashboard are committed work.
What happens today, when we make the change for you:
- Every plan change takes effect immediately, up or down. Scheduling a downgrade for the end of the billing month is committed work and is not built — so if you ask us to downgrade, do it when you are ready for it to apply.
- No pro-rating is calculated. An upgrade mid-month is not pro-rated by the software; write in if the timing matters and we will settle it with you.
- If a downgrade leaves you above the new cap, the excess listings are hidden, never deleted — the newest ones first — and you choose which stay live from your Products tab. Your products, orders and reviews are never removed by a plan change.
Renewal, the grace period and cancellation per ToS §7.
3. Seller Compliance Declarations
You are responsible for the legality, safety and compliance of what you sell, including food-safety course status, any electrical or electronic item declarations, and the HDB Home Office Scheme where it applies. A structured compliance checklist at onboarding is committed work and does not exist today — signup states your responsibility in plain words and you accept it, with these Terms, by ticking the acceptance box when you create the shop.
4. Verification Documents
You may upload a food-safety course certificate from Settings. A document you upload is used only to decide the relevant badge. It is encrypted before it is stored, under a key our hosting provider does not hold, and it can be opened only by our operators, through a signed-in route that checks who is asking; it is never on a public link and never shown to buyers. If we reject it, or revoke a badge, or you upload a replacement, the previous file is deleted.
Still not in place: logging each time an operator opens a document. Our operators can open any uploaded document without that access being recorded.
5. Your Customers' Data
Buyer data routed to you (names, contacts, orders) is yours to handle as a separate data controller — you are responsible for your own PDPA compliance over it. Don't use Platform-routed buyer contacts for spam; that breaches these terms and possibly the Spam Control Act. Our operators can also see it, inside your console (section 11).
6. Marketing Honesty
Don't make income or sales claims about your products that you cannot substantiate. We likewise never promise you a level of sales or income — the pricing page and the marketplace say so in as many words.
7. Eligibility — 18+
Sellers contract with us and must be 18+ (or a parent/guardian holds the account). This is deliberately stricter than discovery-only directories, because a paid subscription contract requires contractual capacity.
8. Reviews — What You May and May Not Do
Reviews on HomeKampung come from orders placed through your shop. That is what makes a rating here worth anything: every review is tied to a real order, and you do not choose which ones appear.
- Who can review. A buyer can review the products of an order once you mark it Completed, for 30 days from then. A buyer whose order was refunded, or who reported it as not received, can review it too, for 30 days, and the review says so ("Order refunded", "Not received"). An order cancelled before it was paid cannot be reviewed. A sale you enter by hand can be reviewed only as the next point sets out.
- Orders you key in ("Ordered by DM"). A sale you enter by hand - a DM, a bazaar - gets a review link only when it carries the buyer's name and phone number, at least one item linked to a product in your catalogue, and your payment receipt, and is marked paid, Completed and Delivered. The link opens a week after the last of these is in place (changing any of them starts the week again) and stays open for 30 days. Its review publishes the same way, but is marked "Ordered by DM", not "Verified order": it counts toward your shop's star rating, not a product's, and does not appear on the product's page. Everything on a keyed-in order comes from you, so entering an order for a sale that did not happen, or for a buyer who does not exist, is a breach of these terms and may lead to suspension. We may look at a shop whose reviews come mostly from orders it keyed in.
- Every buyer gets the way in. The buyer finds Leave a review in "Where is my order?" on your shop, with the order number and their phone - whatever you do. You may also copy the order's review link from the order and send it yourself. If you send it, send it to every buyer or to none: asking only the buyers you expect to be happy is a breach of these terms. You can mark a link as sent on the order; that mark is your own record (which order, when) - we send nothing and cannot see that it arrived.
- Review requests (Growth). Your Orders page lists completed orders not yet reviewed, with a ready message to send from your own WhatsApp - HomeKampung sends nothing. You may change the greeting and add a line; the request for an honest review and the link stay as they are. We record that you asked (the order and the time) and whether your message used words that read like a reward, and we show you how many of your buyers you asked in the last 30 days. We may look at a shop that asks few of its buyers while the reviews it asked for rate clearly higher than the rest.
- Reviews publish straight away. You cannot approve, reject or delete a review. Reviews that were waiting for your approval before 23 October 2026 stay in your queue and you may still approve or reject those.
- You can hide a review from your page. A hidden review still counts toward your star rating and can be shown again. You cannot hide a review while a report on it is open.
- You can report a review to us from your Reviews page, on one of the grounds in the Community Guidelines §1, with a note. It stays on your page until we rule. We do not remove a review for being negative, harsh or disputed.
- The buyer may edit their review once, within the 30 days, through the same link.
- Never offer anything for a review - a discount, a gift, a refund, a free item - and never ask a buyer to change or remove one. Never write a review of your own shop or have someone write one for you, including by placing orders yourself or keying in orders for sales that did not happen. Each is a breach of these terms and of the Community Guidelines, and may lead to suspension.
- Evidence hold. While your shop is under an evidence hold, your reviews are locked: you cannot hide one until the hold is lifted, and a buyer cannot edit theirs. New reviews can still arrive.
9. Order Limits and Manual Orders
You set your own order limits, and we enforce them. In Settings → Order protection you cap how many orders your shop accepts per day, how many one browser may place per day, and how many units may appear in a single order. The shop cap and the units cap are checked on our servers when an order is placed, so a script cannot get past them. The per-browser cap rests on a cookie the browser keeps; a script that discards the cookie is a new browser each time, so that cap slows abuse rather than stopping it. Blocked attempts are counted for you on your dashboard, and each product can carry its own daily cap on top.
Each limit must be at least 1, and we cap the ceilings (1,000 orders a day, 100 per browser, 500 units per order) so the protection stays meaningful. Until you change them, your shop starts at 30 / 3 / 10.
Your first 30 days. For 30 days from signup your shop is marked "New" to buyers, and a single order is capped at S$150 — the total the buyer pays, delivery included — a limit we set, not you, and the checkout refuses an order over it with a sentence that says so. The period ends by itself; we may end it early for a shop we know, raise its cap, or extend it, and each change appears in your History.
You may switch order protection off in the same screen. Your numbers are kept and come back when you switch it on again. While it is off, platform-wide ceilings of 200 orders per shop per day and 50 per browser per day still apply; they protect the service, not your shop, and ToS §7a says what you accept by switching it off.
Orders you enter yourself for a sale that happened elsewhere — a DM, a bazaar, a phone call — are never blocked by these limits and never count toward them.
10. The Food-Safety Badge
Uploading a certificate does not grant the badge. The badge appears on your shop page only after our team reviews and approves the certificate, and nothing in your console can set that status. We may revoke it, which also deletes the stored certificate; you can upload again. The Trust Policy says what the badge means and does not mean.
11. What Our Operators Can Do
A HomeKampung operator can open any shop's console and see what you see there, including your customers, orders, payment screenshots and payment details; change your plan, fee, renewal date or category; record or chase a payment; suspend, un-suspend or delete the shop; approve or revoke the badge; and correct the email address you sign in with, which signs out every open session. These actions, and any change an operator makes inside your console, are recorded in your shop's History, which you can read on the Starter and Growth plans. Our operators' internal working notes about your shop are kept for us and not shown to you. Operator access to documents and screenshots is not yet logged.
12. Your Login and the People You Share It With
Your shop has one login, and you are responsible for everything done with it. Keep the password to yourself, or to people you trust to act for you. If you let staff or family use it, what they do counts as done by you under these Terms — including changing your payment details.
History shows what was done, not who. Your shop's History records what was done with your login and when, but it cannot tell apart the different people who share one login. It is a record of the account, not a staff time-sheet.
Changing your sign-in email. We change it only when we can verify the request comes from you, and we may refuse a change we cannot verify. A message asking us to move your login to a new address is the most common way shops are taken over, so expect us to check before we act. If you think someone else has used your login, change your password at once and tell us at support@homekampungsg.com.
Emails to your login address. When a buyer places an order, we email your login address the order number, the items and amounts, the delivery option and date, and a link to the order — never the buyer's name, phone number or address, which stay in your console. You can turn these alerts off in Settings → Order alerts; the order still appears in your console and your History either way. Password and security notices cannot be turned off. If your address rejects our email or marks it as spam, we stop sending to it until you tell us it is fixed.
13. Order Alerts on Telegram
You may connect up to three Telegram chats to your shop's order alerts from Settings → Order alerts, using a one-time link that works for 15 minutes. Anyone in a group you connect sees every order alert — the order number, the items and amounts, the delivery option and date, and a link that only your login can open. The alert never carries the buyer's name, phone number or address. Choose the group accordingly; what its members do with what they read is on you.
Each time a chat is connected we email your login address, so a connection you did not make is a sign that someone else has your login: disconnect it in Settings and change your password at once. You may switch email alerts off only while a Telegram chat is connected; if the last chat is disconnected, or Telegram tells us the bot was blocked or removed, email alerts come back on by themselves. The bot only sends — it answers no commands, and nothing about your shop can be changed through it. Telegram is a separate service under its own terms; we do not control whether it delivers a message or how long it keeps one.
14. Pre-orders
A pre-order sells against stock you do not have yet. You may put a product on pre-order from its editor once your first 30 days are over — or earlier if we allow it for your shop on request — and we may switch pre-orders off for a shop at any time; that stops new ones and does not cancel existing ones. The new-shop order cap in §9 applies to pre-orders too.
What you promise. The expected arrival date you set is shown to buyers and written on each pre-order. Buyers pay you in full at checkout, so the money is yours before the goods exist, and with it the duty to deliver: when the stock lands you press "Stock arrived" and arrange delivery or collection with each buyer; if it is late you change the date and tell each buyer, with the message we prepare; if it will not come you cancel the pre-orders and refund every buyer in full from your own account — the console records your refund as pending until you mark it done, and that record is what we read if a buyer reports you. A pre-order that never arrives and is not refunded is non-delivery under §12.
What we do not do. We do not hold the money, do not message your buyers, and do not decide delays or refunds for you. A buyer may report a pre-order as not received three days after its expected arrival date.
Reports about your orders and your shop. A buyer who can prove an order (its number and the phone on it) can report a problem with it from "Where is my order?"; anyone can report your shop from your page's footer. For an order report we tell you the reason and the buyer's message — never who sent it — and you must reply from your dashboard within 48 hours, with what happened and any proof you have (tracking, a delivery photo, your chat with the buyer). While a report is open or unanswered we may pause your checkout: your page stays up and your existing orders are untouched, but buyers cannot place new ones and your shop leaves the marketplace until we lift it. We may suspend or remove a shop under the Community Guidelines. Taking payment for an order you do not deliver is a breach of these Terms.
Deleting an order. Deleting an order moves it to your bin, where it can be restored for 30 days; it leaves your lists, counts and daily limit at once. Only an order that never went ahead — a draft, a cancelled order, or a new order with no payment and no screenshot — can be deleted; an order with a payment on it must be cancelled first, and is then kept in the bin until 30 days after its delivery date, where a buyer can still look it up and report it. While a report or an investigation about your shop is open we may place an evidence hold: nothing of your shop is purged and the shop cannot be deleted until it is lifted.
Changing where buyers pay you. Once your shop has live payment details, a change to your PayNow number, bank account or PayNow QR takes effect 72 hours after you request it; buyers keep seeing the current details until then, your login email is told at once, and you can cancel the change from Settings → Payment in that time. This is so that someone who gets into your login cannot redirect your buyers' money before you notice. Entering details for the first time is immediate.
If we close a shop for fraud, we keep one-way fingerprints of the identifiers it used — login email, phone numbers, PayNow, bank account, shop name — for three years. A new shop, or a change to an existing one, that matches a payment, phone or email identifier on that list is held for review (buyers see "Opening soon") until we have looked; a matching shop name only flags it to us. We never refuse a signup automatically and we do not say which detail matched. Write to support@homekampungsg.com if you believe a hold is a mistake — a recycled phone number or a shared family number is a real case.
