Terms of Service — HomeKampung
v0.4.11 · Last revised 6 November 2026 · In force since 1 Nov 2026
Status: In force since 1 Nov 2026. The version and revision date are in the line above.
Related documents: Privacy Policy · Seller Terms · Disclaimers · Community Guidelines. These form one agreement and should be read together; the Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating a shop or using HomeKampung (the "Platform"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Platform. A Seller accepts by ticking an unticked box at signup that links these Terms, the Seller Terms and the Privacy Policy; the shop cannot be created without it.
We record your acceptance. When you create a shop we store the date and time, the version of each of these three documents and a cryptographic hash of its exact text, the sentence you agreed to, your IP address as our server saw it and your browser's identification string. The hash matters more than the version number: it proves which wording you accepted even if a document is later edited. This is retained as evidence of the agreement for as long as the shop exists (see the Data Deletion & Retention Policy for what happens on deletion).
2. Definitions
- Platform — the HomeKampung website, marketplace, and related services operated by Yomiyyat, a sole proprietorship registered in Singapore (UEN 53533139L).
- Seller — a person or business operating a Shop on the Platform.
- Buyer — any person browsing the Platform or purchasing from a Seller. Buyers have no accounts.
- Shop — a Seller's branded storefront page on the Platform.
- Listing — a product displayed in a Shop.
3. Our Role — Discovery Platform Only
HomeKampung is a listing and discovery service. We are not a party to any sale between Buyer and Seller. We do not process, hold, transmit, or guarantee any payment between Buyers and Sellers. Sellers display their own PayNow QR code or bank details; Buyers pay Sellers directly. Any purchase is a direct agreement between Buyer and Seller. We do not guarantee the quality, safety, legality, or delivery of anything sold. A shop in its first 30 days on the Platform is marked "New", and a single order there is capped at S$150 (the total the Buyer pays); the limit is ours, not the Seller's, and the checkout says so.
4. Eligibility
Sellers must be at least 18 years old and have capacity to contract. A shop run by a person under 18 requires a parent or guardian to hold the account and contract on their behalf. Buyers must be capable of forming a binding agreement with the Seller they purchase from.
5. Seller Obligations
Sellers must:
- Keep listings accurate (description, price, availability);
- Comply with all applicable laws, including: completion of the Food Safety Course Level 1 (WSQ) for home-based food sellers selling direct-to-consumer; general consumer-goods safety standards for toys and non-food items; the Consumer Protection (Safety Requirements) Registration Scheme (SAFETY Mark) for controlled electrical/electronic/gas items; HDB Home Office Scheme conditions where applicable;
- Hold any licence their goods require;
- Not list Prohibited Items (Section 6);
- Fulfil orders they accept and deal with Buyers honestly.
6. Prohibited Items
Illegal goods; counterfeit or IP-infringing goods; weapons; alcohol or tobacco without the required licence; cosmetics, health products, or supplements that do not comply with HSA requirements; hazardous or dangerous goods; anything we reasonably determine is unsafe or unlawful. We may remove any Listing at our discretion.
7. Payments
- Buyer→Seller: made directly to the Seller via the Seller's own PayNow or bank details. The Platform bears no responsibility for payment disputes between Buyers and Sellers.
- Seller of record. In every Buyer to Seller sale the Seller is the seller of record. The Platform is a discovery service, is not a party to that sale, and does not process, hold or route the money. Whether a Seller must register for GST is the Seller's own responsibility. Receipts are generated in the Seller's console and are issued by that Seller, not by us: each carries the seller-of-record statement above, and states that no GST is charged where that Seller has declared in their settings that they are not GST-registered. A Seller who declares they are GST-registered has their registration number shown instead, and we make no statement about GST on their behalf. We do not calculate, collect or remit GST in any case.
- Payment confirmation. A Buyer must attach a screenshot of their transfer to place an order. It is passed to that Seller as evidence of payment and nothing more: the Platform does not verify it and marks nothing paid. Marking an order paid is the Seller's own judgement after checking their own bank or PayNow app; when they do, the Platform hands them a pre-filled confirmation message to send to the Buyer (usually by WhatsApp), and it is the Seller who sends it.
- Pre-orders. A Seller may sell a product against a future arrival date. A pre-order is paid in full at checkout, to the Seller, like any other order; no date is chosen at checkout, the Seller arranges delivery or collection when the stock arrives, and the expected date is shown before you confirm and on "Where is my order?". If it is delayed, the Seller contacts you; if it is cancelled, the Seller refunds you in full — we hold no money and cannot refund it ourselves, and our role in a pre-order is the same as in any other sale (§3). "Not received" can be reported from three days after the expected arrival date. Pre-orders and in-stock items are placed as separate orders.
- Seller to Platform (subscription): the Platform's subscription fee is separate, billed to the Seller, and paid to us by PayNow or bank transfer; there is no card billing and no automatic charge. Paid plans continue month to month until cancelled. When a payment is overdue the shop stays online for a seven-day grace period, after which we may suspend it by hand until the payment is recorded; a suspended shop's page shows "coming soon" and takes no orders. Plan changes and cancellations are made by us on request — write in and we will make the change. The seller console says the same thing; there is no self-serve plan change, no pro-rating calculation, and no automated billing engine, and we do not pretend otherwise. Self-serve changes, pro-rated upgrades and end-of-month downgrades are committed work. A downgrade never deletes anything — see Seller Terms section 2.
7a. Order Protection
Each Shop carries limits on orders per day, orders per browser per day and units per order, set by the Seller (Seller Terms section 9). A Seller may switch this protection off. If a Seller switches it off, the Platform is not responsible for any scam, prank or flood of false orders that reaches that Shop, and the Seller accepts that risk when they do so. Platform-wide ceilings still apply with protection off; they exist to protect the service, not the Seller.
8. Intellectual Property
Sellers retain ownership of their content (photos, descriptions, branding). By listing, a Seller grants the Platform a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, reproduce, and promote that content on and off the Platform (e.g. in curated collections and social media) for so long as the Listing is live. The Platform's own software, design, and branding remain ours.
9. Content Moderation & Notice-and-Takedown
We may remove content that breaches these Terms or the Community Guidelines. IP owners may report counterfeit or infringing listings to support@homekampungsg.com; we will review reports and may remove listings, revoke badges, or terminate repeat infringers. See the Community Guidelines for the enforcement ladder.
Reviews. A Buyer can review the products of an order placed through a shop, through Leave a review in "Where is my order?", once the shop marks the order completed - or after it was refunded or reported not received - for 30 days. One review per product per order; it is published at once and may be edited once within the 30 days, through the same link. A review must be honest and about that order (Community Guidelines §1). The reviewer may ask us to delete their review at any time. We remove a review only on the grounds in the Community Guidelines §1. Reviews on Google or other sites are those sites' own and outside these Terms.
10. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
The Platform is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude warranties of fitness, availability, and accuracy. Our total liability to any Seller is capped at the subscription fees that Seller paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded under the Unfair Contract Terms Act; all exclusions apply only to the extent fair and reasonable.
11. Indemnity
Sellers indemnify the Platform against claims arising from their own listings, products, or non-compliance with law.
12. Disputes
Buyer-Seller disputes should first be resolved directly between the parties. Consumers may approach the Small Claims Tribunal or CASE mediation. The Platform may facilitate communication but is not obligated to resolve disputes and does not guarantee refunds.
Reporting a problem. A Buyer can report a problem with an order from "Where is my order?" on the shop's page (using the order number and the phone number on the order), and anyone can report a shop from the shop page's footer. A report reaches HomeKampung's operators. For an order report, the Seller is told the reason and the Buyer's message and is asked to answer within 48 hours; the Seller is never told who reported. If you leave an email address with a report, we aim to reply within 2 working days. While a report is being looked at we may pause a shop's checkout (the shop page stays up; no new orders can be placed), and we may suspend or remove a shop under the Community Guidelines. We cannot refund or recover money — we never hold it — but we will tell a Buyer where to go next (the police, ScamShield, their bank, CASE, the Small Claims Tribunal) and will cooperate with the police. While a report or an investigation is open we may place an evidence hold on a shop, keeping its orders, records and History beyond their usual retention until the matter is settled. When we close a shop for fraud we keep one-way fingerprints of the identifiers it used for three years, and a later shop that matches one is held for review rather than refused — repeat offenders are flagged for a person to look at, never blocked by a machine (Privacy Policy §2).
13. Suspension & Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts for breach of these Terms, non-payment, or unlawful activity — subject to the graduated enforcement described in the Community Guidelines. Sellers may close their account at any time by writing to us; there is no self-serve close, and we delete the shop on request. See the Data Deletion & Retention Policy for what happens to data.
14. Changes to These Terms
We will give at least 14 days' notice of material changes, as a notice on every Seller's dashboard and by email to each Seller's login address. Continued use after the effective date is acceptance. Each version carries its effective date. We record which version you accepted (section 1). Archiving the full text of every past version is committed work; today we keep each version's hash, which is enough to prove what was accepted but not to show it to you.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore have exclusive jurisdiction.
16. Contact
